Hello all!

Oubliettes is a pet project for me, and itch is a wonderful platform to show what I'm trying to do with this game. To keep people informed on the progress of this game, I will be doing a sort of diary to talk about the work I am doing and the features I am implementing or attempting to implement. I will also use this space to open up discussions about the ideas of people who play this game.

IRL, I am experiencing some pretty intense life changes as I am in the middle of a move. This has made it difficult to dedicate the time I really want to put in the development of this game but rest assured that I will not abandon this project anytime soon.

The features I am working on at the time:

- Main menu / Pause menu

- Basic Dialogue system

- Arena mode brawl system (so you don't just walk into the back room and instantly get jumped by a lookalike)

- Animation system overhaul (adding concrete multidirectional animations for all cycles)

-  Deeper combat system (currently can only punch, so obviously that won't do)

- First mission available at the mission board! This one is to exemplify what the core of the game should be about. I want to make this great and enjoyable and R A N D O M L Y generated. Yeah, you read that correctly - randomly generated missions.  Missions will be by type and follow a theme, but aspects like level design will be generated by instance and allow for replayability.

- Many, many more things that are in the works


A couple of these things are already complete and will be in the next update.
